Natural Ways of Diabetes Reversal

Diabetes mellitus is a group of metabolic diseases characterized by elevated blood glucose levels that results from defects in insulin secretion, insulin action, or both. In the normal state, the body has certain amount of glucose circulates in the blood. Insulin controls the level of glucose in the blood by regulating the production and storage of glucose. In the diabetic state, the cells may stop responding to insulin or the pancreas may stop producing insulin entirely. This event leads to hyperglycemia which can further result to life threatening complications.
Managing diabetes is not as complicated as it sounds. Treatment can vary from nutritional management, exercise, blood glucose and weight monitoring, pharmacologic therapy and education. Insulin has been thought as one of the most inconvenient treatments of the disease especially when a person is injecting it for life. The good news is that there are natural ways to help in reversing diabetes and reducing diabetic complications.
Drink plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated and to flush out toxins in the body. Diet is also vital in your fight to reversing diabetes. Eating the right foods in right amounts will provide proper nutrition for cells and maintain the body's use of insulin. Calories and carbohydrates need to be in the right amounts because the body struggles to break down sugar in a high-carbohydrate diet.

Eat a well balanced diet to avoid metabolic problems. Protein in the diet is also necessary because it helps with the repair of cell membranes. Increase protein consumption could possibly aid the cell's ability to begin to accept insulin. Vegetables in the diet will help reverse diabetic symptoms because it provides nutrients. Fiber in the diet will aid in keeping a regular bowel movement.
Exercise is recommended for diabetic persons for it has effects on lowering blood glucose and reducing cardiovascular risk factors. It also improves circulation and muscle tone.
Exogenous insulin administered is necessary for Type 1 diabetes, but for persons with type 2 diabetes, it can be controlled by diet alone or by diet and an oral agent temporarily.
